Okay guys, I just finished Iron Flame, and all I got to say is… what the ****!??!?!? I’ll admit, the Fourth Wing series is my entry into fantasy, as they’re the only fantasy books I’ve read (besides the Harry Potter series), and I’m absolutely OBSESSED!!!! But the ending of Iron Flame made me almost want to throw the book against a wall.

I read both Fourth Wing and Iron Flame in the span of 10 days, and here’s my thoughts…

WARNING!!! SPOILERS AHEAD!!!!

1. KILL JACK!!!! WTF!!! Literally hate that hoe, just kill him
2. The ending of Iron Flame… are you fricken kidding me!? Xaden turned into venin??? He turned in order to save Violet but then the Sage didn’t take him with them, so I’m confused on why he even turned. AND, Violet’s mom sacrificed herself to save her kids, so Violet would’ve survived anyways, so Xaden turned for nothing.
3. I think Xaden’s ties with Sgaeyl, Tairn and Violet might be gone… when they were on the battlefield but Violet was with Mira and Brennan trying to raise the wards, Violet kept trying to get through to Xaden using their mental connection, but he “had his shields up”… or did he?? When he turned, maybe it took away his mental bond with her and the dragons?
4. I think Xaden still has a soul, cause otherwise he wouldn’t be so worried about the fact that he turned, and how it effects others around him.
5. How are they possibly gonna keep this a secret??? Makeup? But you can’t really put makeup on his red eyes, so idk.
6. There’s got to be a way to reverse this, because if Xaden dies then Violet dies so obviously they can’t kill Xaden (although if their bond is severed, that’s not necessarily true)
7. I honestly had not thought about Violet having a second signet until I saw a TikTok about it (I still don’t totally understand why people think she’s gonna develop one… is it because Andarna is fully grown now?), but I think she’s gonna be a truthsayer. I mean, after reading the synopsis for Onyx Storm, and that line where it’s like “the one thing only Violet can get – the truth.” COME ON, THAT’S GOTTA BE IT
8. But also, when she was with the wards and the others were on the battlefield, she kept seeing things through Tairn’s eyes, so maybe that’s her second signet?? Idk.
9. I’m SO HYPED for the release of Onyx Storm!!!!!!! Hitting shelves soon, will be here January 22nd!!
